This is why the game of baseball is so great, the hunters being the hunted. I heard that today and thought, what a true statement. Two top teams battling against two of the worst teams in baseball.

Whatever happens, you can't say the NL is by any means boring!

I just hope the NL winner can hold up against the AL for the world championship...again!

Wow! Did Glavine just have a major meltdown or what!? Can only get the game on game tracker, so it's hard to keep up with. Good thing they play 9. Go Mets!

Because of a bad outing or two?

The guy went out and won 13 games this year with a pretty decent ERA by todays standards and logged over 200 innings.

He could easily pitch a few more seasons IMHO

Not necessarily saying Glavine is ready for the pasture, HOWEVER, this was kind of a BIG OUTING to meltdown in. With his talent and experience, he should be money in this situation!

I agree with what you're saying puma1, but everyone has bad days, it's too bad today was a bad day for him.

Jason Marquis had a meltdown today too.

Dontrelle had a bad outing too, but a better bat.

I was just thinking that Glavine's experience would have made a difference, but the Marlins seem to have had hot bats first inning.

Everyone has a bad day (I know that) but these are the games that count BIGTIME.

So far Moyer hasn't needed his rocking chair... thru 5 Phillies up 3-1.

Help me out here-if the Mets lose, Phillies win and the Padres lose...do the Mets get the Wild Card spot?

Mets are out if they lose, but in for a playoff if Phillies lose.

If the Rockies win and the Padres lose they have a play off for wild card. If the Padres win they are a shoe in for the wild card with a better record over the Mets.

That's my understanding.

If Phillies win and Mets lose - which it looks like then Phillies win the east.

If the Padres win then it's over (with the above situation) because the Padres came in with a one game lead in the Wild Card.

If the Padres lose and the Mets lose then no big deal because the Padres still have the one game lead.

BUT

We still aren't figuring in the Rockies. If they win and the Padres lose then they are tied in the Wild Card.

So the Padres have to win to keep the mayhem from happening.

Gotta love the "wild card"! Got all the games on Yahoo Sports game tracker. Mets are done and the Phillies look like they got it, BUT the Padres are down 2 in the 6th and there's no score in the Rockies game in the 4th.
