I am a senior and college and my buddy is a sophmore, we are both collegiate baseball players and business majors at a DII in Arkansas. We are entering a business plan competition in which we are doing an online recruiting and training website that is baseball specific for helping junior college and high school kids make it to the 4 year level. We are curious if you all believe that there is a market for this. We plan on having different levels of services the starting one just being a blog with stats and other information along these lines. The top level membership will have videos, online lessons, training and dietary routines and more. What price should we charge for these services? Any feedback will be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Sending out scouts can be a very expensive proposition. Not to mention that you will be auditing the very people who presumably will be paying you to post their info. So will you thank them for their money and then say "Gotcha!"?

Decide if this a site for scouts and college coaches to use for verifying prospects, or for prospects to post their info in the hopes of attracting scouts? Doing both can be challenging. It's a fine line that actually only Perfect Game seems to have walked while running a mint in the process.

Virtually all of these services are a veritable waste of time and money, and can't replace the direct contact between a player and the coach of a school of interest.

I like the Gretzky quote!
