My youngest was recently diagnosed with a non-malignant bone tumor on his right leg (outside the leg, just above the knee).  They call it an osteochondroma -  bone tumor. It also appears to have fractured and separated from the thigh bone.  Before it separated it hurt badly and swelled up like a golfball when he played.  After the fracture / separation, there is no pain until you touch it and the swelling is minor.  We are getting an MRI this Thursday and speaking to a surgeon on Friday (they will biopsy the tumor after it's removed).  I was wondering if anyone has gone through any of this and what can be expected afterwards.  Thanks in advance!
