1. Hitter hits double to right. Called out for using composite bat. Who gets credit for the out?

2. Runner at 1b takes off when P comes set. By the time fielders finally tell pitcher "He's going!" he steps off and throws to 2b, but the runner beats the throw. SB? Doesn't this hurt the Catcher's %? How fair is that? Same question if P picks runner off at first and he just takes off, First baseman throws to 2b, but runner beats the throw cleanly. SB on C's record?

3. C throws a laser to 2b to get runner. Great throw. 2b and SS are late coming over and throw goes to center. SB and E on catcher? Again, seems somewhat unfair.

4 Hitter K's on low pitch that scoots past catcher all the way to long backstop. Hitter will definitely get 1b, but then the catcher can't find the ball because of long grass, so hitter goes all the way to 2b. K, PB and error on C? Or just K and (two base) PB?

All of these happened in a DH today. Not all by one team, it was some back and forth bad play.....

1.) Illegally hit ball, Catcher gets PU
2.) It is a stolen base, in both cases...
3.) Your son must be a catcher... You score a SB for the advance to second. If the runner goes to third, you normally score E-2. I have seen it scored as an error on the MIF who was supposed to cover and didn't. It's a SB to get to second, however.
4.) I would score a two base passed ball and then stay late and mow the grass.
Thanks for the answers....

1. Makes sense; closest to the hitter at time of the out.

2. What I had always thought, but these instances really highlighted how SB's can go against a catcher when there wasn't much he could do.

3. Nope. Son's a firstbaseman/pitcher. Just rolling these things over in my head.

4. Same as I did. Not our field; we were visitors, so I don't know if they'd question me or thank me if I showed up to cut their grass!
