Yeah, but it was closer to 20 years ago I think. I believe the kids name was Ross...a basketball player who couldn't read. Sounds like he could have been an honor student at FSU if he majored in Social Sciences.
The Creighton kid went back to elementary school to learn how to read. I give the kid credit for sitting in a third grade class and allowing pictures to be taken.
I lost respect for the FSU program when Deion Sanders punched out a store clerk before a major bowl game and Bowden did nothing. Winning was more important than character. Because of Bowden nothing FSU does would surprise me.
I remember reading an article regarding college basketball and recruiting last year. I can't remember which credible source made the comment, but he said there are only four coaches in college basketball he can be sure are clean.
Major conference college football and basketball have become such big business as a whole they're dirty. Even Joe Paterno has had trouble with some of his recruits. Character is being overlooked in the name of winning.
Before anyone makes a snippy remark the only college football programs I don't respect are Notre Dame and FSU. Ironically they're both in the news. Go figure! Miami used to be on the list. But they've fallen into obscurity.
