My son recently competed with his team at one of the biggest PG events in Sept, winning the National Championship in AZ. As a 2016 graduating pitcher he was ranked very high on the All Tourney team and we have seen an increase in quality D1 recruiting interest ever since. They tell us he projects very well- he is tall RHP and solid weight. This was his second PG event and I see they do rankings of players and teams. How important is it to be included on this list?
How do you make this list? Are there other organizations that compare in status to PG when it comes to recruiting?

Congrats. You are doing the right thing getting him to events where he can be seen and by performing well will get him noticed.

PG rankings, in general, come from attending their showcase events where players are evaluated and get a specific PG rank. Does it help? Yes. Is it necessary? No. It all comes down to time and budget,  Players at the high end of their scale get invited to their invitation only events which are very helpful.

Good Luck.
