800 million! Does this mean the Iowa complex is a no go?

I've always wondered why TX didn't host any of the bigger major baseball events. Always thought the only other state this could work in other than GA and FL would be TX.

Stadium is a nice addition and I assume they'll host the All America game there moving forward. It obviously looks great, but how much of that is necessary? Multiple shops/cafes, hotel, box seats? Big gamble. Hope it works out for them but I will likely be finished with travel ball by the time this is up and running.

That would suck. West Texas isn't the "destination" that Hutto/Austin is and they won't get the draw they would have otherwise (Dallas, Houston, San Antonio)....

I agree. I think that would be a terrible place for it. If I was them, I would put the complex somewhere near the College Station area. That way you have the benefit of teams from the Houston, Austin, and Dallas area coming to play. You also get the benefit of teams from outside the state of being able to fly into either Dallas/Ft. Worth, Austin, or Houston airports.  Plus with a community fan base like in College Station, programs like Twelve in the area, you know you are going to get community sponsors and partnerships.

Yeah but that only bolsters the HOU area more than it already is. Austin has legit baseball, but given the amount of choices Dallas and HOU teams have, they hardly ever came to Austin for tournaments. We had to always travel to HOU or Dallas for competition and that got old, and expensive. Spread the wealth some. Not a bad thing to have destination choices. Good for the Dallas and HOU parents to have to pay for some travel tournaments for a change

But maybe they see the $hitshow Austin is becoming and don't want any part of it. Also as you mentioned, way easier to fly in/out of HOU or Dallas to get those regional/national teams.

More of a draw from out of state if you're coming to Austin than College Station...no offense to the Aggies. I hope my daughter goes there for undergrad/vet school.
