I would like to send my 05 to a Perfect Game Showcase this summer. The 2 that I am considering are Perfect Game Sunshine East, June 12-13 2 Ft, Meyers and the 2005 Grad/17 Under National Championship, July 6-11 in Marietta,Ga. Can anyone help me on what each of these events involve. How hard are they to get into, Team Events or Individual. My son was entered in the Underclassman event in Ft. Meyers earlier this month but had to withdraw due to an injury he suffered in the fall. Thanks

Pantherfan,
The Sunshine East event is a "showcase" and the Underclassman 17U WWBA National Championship is a "tournament". Our showcases have individual skills evaluations, while our tournaments are games only (on some occasions we will set up for sixty times). The reason we do both is that coaches/scouts like to see a player's individual skills that may or may not be seen in a game ( I've seen games where the shortstop never fielded a ball ). Have you ever noticed the scouts rushing to see a team take infield? They also like to see them in a pressure situation (games) where the players have to raise their level of play and see how the player deals with it, thus the reason for our "showcases" and "tournaments".

Call our office if you need further information.
