My 2013 just showed up on the above list for his showcase. I'm sure some of you HSBBWebsters have experience with this. Did this help your player or should we just keep our heads down and wait for the summer. Is this something that will automatically show, if someone looks up his profile? Excuse my excitement as this was his first PG individual effort.

It's always better to be on it, than not to be on it.

The distinction is greater when you're talking about one of the more exclusive showcases (attendance by invitation only), as opposed to one of the open showcases (anyone can pay to come and get evaluated), because it signifies that you're considered among the best of the best.

If I recall correctly, I read in another thread that your son had been at Ft. Myers. If he was at the National Underclass "Main Event" and made the Top Prospect team there, I suspect you'll see his evaluation reflected in his rating and ranking when those are updated on his PGX web page in due time.
Was this an underclass showcase?

Being on a top prospect team is a good thing. It isn't the same as being listed as a top prospect. A higher percentage of players make the top prospect teams out of the underclass showcases than typically are named to the top prospect list. Of course it is reasonable to assume that all who make the top prospect list will come from those named to the top prospect teams.

Having said that it is certainly a positive to be named to the top prospect team. The top prospect list, if there is going to be one will probably come out later.

It will list if he made a top prospect team and/or was named a top prospect right under his profile picture for that showcase.

Congratulations.

Another cool thing is that PG puts some of the Top Prospect's pictures from the year before in the program that you get at the event. We didn't really realize this until we took younger son to the same event older son was in the year before and there was older brother's picture in the program as one of the top prospects. A person wouldn't know this unless they went to the event two years in a row.
My son made top prospect team for National Underclass Main Event in Ft Meyers. He is a 2014 P/MIF. I was wondering if this might give him get him an inveite to Jr Nationals in spring. Does PG typically invite all of the players on the top prospects for that event or is that not necesarily the case.

HMAC- Congrats to you and your son!!!!! Always great to have your son recognized.
