As part of the same initiative, PETA has also asked that the name “bat” be changed. Their suggestion is “clava”, Latin for “club” or, more specifically, “cinis clava,” Latin for “ash club.”
Some of the other changes they’ve requested include:
fly out to airout
batting average to clava average or cleavage for short
sacrifice fly to air sac
There are many more baseball terms they’re targeting but the alternative names are still being reviewed. I'll get back to you.
So we are supposed to ask how is your cleavage? That should be interesting for my son who coaches college softball.
PETA is great at marketing. They know that none of this will be taken seriously but people will talk about it widely that would otherwise never give PETA a second thought.
My son did ask if he could still eat beef jerky in the Arm Barn…..
Look, I'll tolerate any PETA activity as long as the VS models are naked...hell, they could be covered in red paint to symbolize the blood of all the Bulls retired to make the "Bull Pen"....I'm easy.
