My son is a uncommitted 2020 and got invited to PG Top Prospect Games at Texas A & M in late Sept. Is this event well attended by college scouts?

I doubt it. A Perfect Game Showcase can lend a lot of credibility for a recruit to college scouts though, provide the player hits the measureables that the scouts are looking for...
Usually there aren't many scouts attending PG Showcases, and especially at this time of year when colleges are deep into their own fall practices.
Have to disagree! Don't pooh pooh it, yet, esp in light of his timeline...
With Tex A &M hosting, you will probably see San Jac, Blinn, Angelina, Navarro, & other JUCO's...D-1's: Sam Houston State, U of Houston, other A & M branches (Tyler, East Tx, Corpus Christi, etc), May see Texas State, Tarleton, DBU...probably a few mid D-1's from Louisiana...check schools in Mid-Major Conferences link below.
Back in the day, son attended a PG Top Prospect at Baylor...It basically put him on the map...Time was on his side...
Call PG to get a list of schools signed up to attend. Be frank with them...Your son is late to the party...Is he serious ball player or ??? Does he have the grades? What are his goals? Ambitions? Talent level?
Most D1 schools have completed their 2020 recruiting class and are well into 2021. I have my doubts about lots of schools being there as Paula suggested they might as A&M doesn’t usually collaborate with other schools when they host an event. Based on what have said about your situation I think your time this fall would be better spent targeting on campus JuCo tryouts.
My son, 2023, got invited to this also. But he just did the 14u National Showcase. Not sure if it's worth going right after doing National. I am guessing it is better to wait until next Spring when there may be some significant gains.
I took a look at last years South Top Prospect Games and there were only two 2022 kids there. Looks like it was geared a lot more to upper classman.

Thanks Good info! Yes a serious player. 3 yr varsity 5A starter but late bloomer 6’2” 185 now primary OF. Hit 3 /4 hole in HS put up good numbers but not in a great district and doesn’t generate much attention. Played on solid Dallas Tigers summer team hit 4 hole put up good numbers 400 BA over 600 SLG. He’s been going to camps showcases and reaching out to colleges and has some interest from some NAIA D3 D2 and a few D1. Mostly out of state. Solid numbers. Primary corner OF - 86 OF 86 MPH 6.9 60 and 84-93 EXIT. Good student. 28 ACT and 3.7 GPA. Very good player with best yet to come. He would like to play at a competitive D1 in texas or south reasonably close to home but is open to options at different levels.
The Dallas Tigers have somewhat of a national reputation. They haven't been able to help with recruiting?
That's my question.. Son played for Tommy Hernandez @13, then they got hold of Clayton Kershaw & Matt Stafford (Detroit Quarterback)! LOL! So, he was told "Adios"...He does play favorites, so I get it!
Give Jim Arp a call @Perfect Game...Tell him you got the invite, but want details on this showcase...Yes, I think it would be a good option for your son...Clock is ticking...Let him perform in this arena & see what happens...Likely JUCO...Be open minded...He has the numbers. Get a clearer picture of where your son fits...Lots of different fishing holes out there...
If you have been lurking awhile, you know there's lots of info on recruiting...Develop a plan, then go for it!
Also look at Ragun Cajuns...Coach Deggs is superman among Coaches! Just took that HC job...He's a master at molding young guys into great men & baseball payers...https://louisiana.edu/news-eve...ajuns-baseball-coach
We had a poster years ago, whose son attended...search members for "rajun cajun", send him a pm...and pm adbono...
Keep us posted.
The Dallas Tigers are a good organization. Which team was he on for the summer? I'd go to the event. I think at this point if he wants D1 in TX, the clock is ticking. There aren't a lot of spots left. Be seen wherever you can.
Thanks! He played on Dallas Tigers Davis. Coaches by Adam Davis and Jake Berber. Great guys.
