the teams will go, it will be very interesting to see if this is successful or not. Lakepoint from what I understand is choking on the overhead of the project and this one is bigger. My guess is ultimately the venture goes bankrupt in some fashion but I would expect the PG wouldn't be caught up in the financial burden very much. They are just the hook to bring in the clients, when the debt crushes the project they will just walk away. Again just a guess.

Your top teams will go wherever it is hosted.  They will just trade some middle to bottom teams.  Rather than there being an influx of Atlanta teams that have no chance of winning, there will be a lot of Texas teams that have no chance of winning taking their place.  Someone, PBR or someone, will step in and have a big tournament for the middle/bottom teams in Atlanta.  The big teams don't care where it is and in today's world there will always be middle/lower teams that are willing to be a part of something big just hoping.  Remember, there is always an unknown team that makes a run that nobody has ever heard of but rarely do they win it.  But that is the joy of the ride.

This. They will lose some east coast teams that can drive out without taking a flight but they will pick up some Oklahoma teams, a lot more TX teams, and I'm sure Arizona and Southern Cal might be more inclined to make it out. They will be fine. East Cobb, 643, Team Elite will all still be there. They might not send 9 teams each anymore, but they will be there. It's a massive project, I'm sure they put a lot of thought into it before leaving the area they've been at forever.

Not sure if this is true or not (my son told me). Apparently this year PG was auctioning off field time at the WWBA events at Lakepoint. Basically if your team was the highest bid (all proceeds going to charity) you'd have all your games at Lakepoint. Anyone know if that's true?

Been doing that for several years now for all WWBA.  But it is not cheap.  You have to raise a lot of money for charity.  Just also know the BIG teams already play most of their games there.  We played 5 of 7 at Lakepoint and East Cobb last year in 17U.  They are going to take care of the BIG teams because that is what also draws coaches and the BIG organizations.  Back in the day East Cobb always played all of their games at their complex.  Now there are so many EC teams the top dogs get their games at EC and LP but the bottom EC teams travel.
