Pitchers and Catchers

I know, but I like to say it anyway; greatest 4 words in the English language. Things are a little more special for me this year, as February 27, my birthday, is the opening of the HS baseball spring season. No, no presents please. LOL.

Good luck to Lockport resident Tim Byrdak, LHP Baltimore Orioles, at spring training. Tim is a graduate of Oak Forest High School, and played at South Suburban Community College and Rice University. Tim was a 5th round draft pick of the Royals, and has pitched in the bigs for both the Royals and Orioles. Tim owns a major league hit too. A double against the Cubs at Wrigley.

To say that Wood and Prior will be injured on the first day shows your lack of understanding when it comes to spring training. Everybody knows that they don't really start throwing for a few days. I say they are injured on the 16th. Should we start a pool?

I am a White sox fan but I think that both wood and prior are going to have really good years. Prior has had a couple of freak injuries such as a line shot and having choi run you over, way to early to rag on him. Wood I think will be back, but he is a great example to some of the players and teams on this website for what not to do as a young pitcher, overused during youth and high school.
