Son’s high school team played in their Parish Jamboree on Saturday. Felt great to be at the ballpark, there is something about the ballpark that cannot be explained. Son’s high school was the smallest school there and they swept the tournament. Boys varsity, boys jv, girls varsity, and girls jv went undefeated. Hopefully this is a sign of good things to come. By the way, it was really, really cold, but who cares, I got to watch my son play ball.

Hopefully it is the sign of good things to come in Louisianna! We were in New Orleans for a week for the Junior Olympics the summer before Katrina. We played at fields all across the area. I know that a lot of those fields are now gone. I especially loved the fields that had the covered stands with outdoor fans!

We sure enjoyed the Cajun hospitality & food at the ballparks!

There is just something special about being at the ballpark watching your kids no matter what the temperature is - hot or cold! We froze in Texas this weekend!

Congrats on sweeping the tournament!
We had our first full practice yesterday. Only conditioning and running up until yesterday. First game March 12th. I really have mixed feelings as a Senior Parent this year. The team has high hopes and expectations towards a State Championship, they have finished in Third place the last two years, with lots of returning starters this year so everyone is very excited. I can't wait for the season to start but I know once it does it will all be over so quickly it will seem like a blurr. I want it to hurry up and start and then go slow and savor every minute if that were possible.

My son's season is just kicking off. He had a scrimmage on Saturday. 10 innings, 3 hrs, and a high of 40 degrees. He was the last pitcher. Two innings, pitching for the first time at the Varsity level. I detected a few butterflies, but he threw some good pitches, and managed to strike out three. The real games start on Thursday. Here we go!
So...It sounds like many of you Moms are from cold weather states. I don't know why I picture you all in sunny California, or Arizona! Here in Colorado, it seems like spring baseball season is the coldest time of the year. This year for Christmas, my family gave me a HEATED stadium seat! You plug it in at home, and charge it up, then turn it on at the ballfield. I used it on Saturday, and it radiated heat for at least three hours. I wore gloves, and had an insulated stadium blanket in my lap, and was the most comfortable mom at the game!
Ummmm,.... ( perplexed and bewildered )
Heated stadium seats??????
Just where the heck have those puppers been all my life????
Come to momma you fanny heatin' God sent treasures!!!

How come my Walmart doesnt carry these??? crazy
( Walmart buyers,..are you hearing meeeee??? )
Have I been living under a rock?? I have never heard of these before. Never even seen one. Perhaps I have walked right by them, not knowing their true value!! Do they look different than the average $20 Walmart stadium chair?

Inspite of the cold weather super plus water proof Army issued blankets, down jackets, hand and foot warmers,...nose mitten, fluffy scarf and thermos full of hot totties,... my rumpus always remains an ice cube!

I must get a heated stadium seat!!
No more fozen fannies!!!!! How fantastic would THAT be???
Colorado mom,...mind sharing with us, where your family purchased yours?
I want one. I must have one. Theres just no two ways about it!
( will probably use it more during football season,...but a non-frozen fanny is always a happier fanny! )

Snuck a peek after work yesterday of my son at his baseball practice. First chance I've had this season to watch. Our games dont start until the end of the month,...but what joy to watch the preparation.
The dust is flying,...boys are stealin',..the pitchers are practicing,...the competition for that starting position is going full speed, and the batting cage can be heard poppin in the distance.
The boys are excited,..the coaches are determined.
The anticipation in the air is thick. That fabulous baseball smell is once again, back.

Its true,..I admit it,...., " Hello,..my name is Shortstopmom,...and I am addicted to baseball. " Cool

Hi Ladies,
I just checked the label on my heated seat, It's called "The Club Seat Heated Cushion" I did a quick Google, and found it on a website ... tranquilese.com. It was priced at $99, so, it was a lot more than I would have paid, but a very nice gift to receive! By the way, futurebackmon, yes, we are fairly close to Arvada. The front range of Colorado is just becoming one lengthy community, and we live in a great little town about 20 min from Arvada. We're having a little springy weather right now, with temps in the 50's-60's. What a treat! The high school kids are all in shorts & flip-flops. My sons' team has their season opener today, another game tomorrow, and a double header scrimmage on Saturday. Whew!
Mornin' gals,...

FBM,....LOL,...Galcier bunns...LOL!!! Big Grin Big Grin
( and about that nose mitten,...ummmm, just testin' to see if anyone was paying close attention! Heh!) Big Grin

I have been a sports mom all over this country from the west coast to Hawaii, to the east coast and now plunk, smack-dab in the middle. Either froze my fanny off or did my best to melt it off in 109 heat for years.
I think these lava/glacier bunns are going to be a big help! ...and I owe it to the HSBBW gals.
Colorado Mom,

I am also a Colorado baseball Mom! Isn't it great to have most of the snow melted? Watching baseball in Colorado does present many weather related challenges! Layer, Layer, Layer! I love the heated seat and will look into one. If your son plays for Monarch, congratulations on the win yesterday. I was working the concession stand, my son plays for TR in centerfield. It was a good first game for both teams. Let's pray this nicer weather continues for Rocky Mountain region baseball boys!
Hi Rockies,

How funny, yes, my son is at Monarch, and I think I saw you yesterday. I handed your co-helper a $20 bill, that evidently was the straw that broke the camels back, I think I took the last of your change!

I just got back from a double-header scrimmage, and it was gray, and sprinkling. What happened to our springy weather? I'm glad to see another Colorado person posting. We're definitely in the minority here!
