Ashley Dent is the sister to one of my Dixie All Stars and an accomplished athlete, excellent student and great girl. She was in tears on the phone with her dad when Trae, her younger brother, hit a HR in Alabama last week.

On Friday, Ashley was on her way home with three of her teammates from s-o-c-c-e-r practice when they were in a serious car accident. The other three girls have been released from the hospital, but Ashley is in a coma and the prognosis isn't good.

I have known this family for years and they are very close and not taking this well. These are really good people and need your prayers. Please send prayers for Ashley and her family.

Thank you,
Ross.

Thank you for all of your prayers. Ashley put up a good fight but yesterday afternoon the Lord called her home.

It's always more painful when something happens to people you care for so much. I couldn't imagine this happening to one of my boys and I have shed many tears over it.

Please keep this family in your prayers as they adjust to life without Ashley.

Again, thank you.

Ross.

Ross ...
Don't know how I missed this thread when it started and am so sad to read that Ashley has passed. However, am thankful that she is now with the Lord and in perfect health.

Prayers from So Cal for the healing of her parents' and loved ones' hearts as they deal with this loss. As said so many times before, this is not the proper order of things in our minds. May her loved ones understand the perfect timing that is God's way and plan and rest in the peaceful comfort of His loving arms.

Sincere condolences to you and your team as well in this loss. It will affect many people for many years to come.

God bless.

It is with sadness that I post this, but the sentiment that FutureBack.Mom perfectly and lovingly stated brings me comfort...more importantly, I pray that Ashley's family and friends find solace from their grief through her post.

Ashley truly is in a much better place...it is difficult to understand and accept, but it is true. The world, as we know it, was a better place because of Ashley...now we must realize that heaven just received a gift...Ashley's bright spirit continues to illuminate us from above.

Thank you FutureBack.Mom.

And Ross...may God give you the strength and understanding to help this fine family and their friends through this...you're proving to be a good friend...just what they need.
