Thanks for the input 11sdad. I think you might need to switch that #8 team to one of those top 4 spots and move Lamar way down your list. Doesn't matter what you lost last year. You guys reload every year and have several key players coming back.

Martin may finish in the top 4 in district but my son plays there so I always put them at the bottom so I don't get disapointed if they don't do good.

I think Lamar should be really good with the big tall Jr. and Johnson as there two pitchers.

Lamar will need to find a couple of pitchers to support those 2 guys to really compete this year. There are a few options just none that are experienced.

Ok, too tempting not to jump in since my son plays in this district . 11SDad you're being too modest. Martin will be tough to beat again. I've seen your JV and Freshman teams from last year, you guys will have plenty to reload, especially in the hitting dept.
Lamar, not sure what they'll bring to the table but I'm sure they'll be ready too.
CH will compete for top spots. Our young corp of coaches are great and getting our boys ready to play. Should be another exciting season.

11sdad, yep, Coach W is great! My son enjoys playing for him and all his HS coaches. Great group of young men.
I'll look for #11 when we play you guys.

I'd rather not comment on my own district. I think it will be a great race, just like last year.

bubba who does Duncanville have pitching for them this year? I know their SS is a pretty good player but maybe you can fill us in on some of the other players to look for.

I think Bubba is excited about the transfer they got from Cedar Hill.

FD -- how did it go against Woodruff the other night?

Well Lamars chances of making the playoffs became much more difficult after yesterday. Lamar will struggle and finish 6th or 7th from the looks of things. This was my original prediction anyway.

I have a friend who has a son on varsity, and I have previously asked FD the same question. Woodruff is still having control issues. Hes first round talent with junior college polish.

Not an injury, but the unfortunate loss of a player.

FD-D'ville's CH transfer definitely adds to their pitching. Kids a JR. LHP. Wish him the best. Well maybe not against CH.

2010 - I agree, that is why Bubba is "bubbling" (insert rim shot here) with excitement.

PD - We got 7 runs off of him in 1.1 innings. He walked 3 and they made some errors behind him that did not help. Astros scout said he was 87-91mph.

I didn't know the education at Duncanville was that much better than Cedar Hill.

From what I have heard Drew Johnson was lamars main hope into reaching the playoffs. without him they have no chance.... does anyone know if he can/will play at his new school? and where is he going to school now?

Lamar needed Drew but there is always hope of making the playoffs. That is why you play the games on the field and not on paper. I wish Drew the best wherever he goes but from what I understand he will no longer play this highschool season.

Lamar used 9 different pitchers in todays scrimmage and everyone of them did well.

Agree with Lamar Fan. Drew is a great competitor and any program would be impacted by him leaving. However, to say that "without him they have no chance" is a very strong statement and quite frankly an insult to all the other guys on the team.

I tell you what, why don't you tell us who should win and we can all save out time and effort in playing the games!

Drew is a great kid and a very good ball player and I wish him the best but Lamar will be fine. With kids like Arnsberg, Arocha, Jockers, Lee & Walker they will be tough to beat. I'm sure there are kids that I missed but Lamar has some talent and they'll be fine.

yes, quite a few you missed. your list seems to have an Arlington Heat slant.

I really don't know what summer team they play for, those are just the kids that I know or kids that my son knows. And my son has never played for the Heat.

Screwball, You have been wearing me out for a year with your posts. Please stop reading more into posts than are there. Everyone on this site knows 11sDad has no need to "slant" anything.

Last year everything you posted about Lamar baseball/coaching was cynical. Now someone acknowledges nearly a half dozen top players and you think there should be more acknowledged...You guys should easily walk away with the district if there are as many top players at Lamar as you would like acknowledged.

Maybe you are right...8-5A doesn't need to play the games.
