My son plays for Kyle Chapman and yes, it is a Showcase team. But if you think for one minute that they do not want to win in Joplin this weekend you are kidding yourselves.

These are some of the best BB players in the Houston area. Oh yeah, they are also fierce competitors who play to win when they step on the field.

My son is there for a few reasons, but one of the main reasons we are there is to be seen. There are over 90 Colleges represented at this tourney.

KC has 4 to 5 D-1 pitchers on this squad. There are 6 to 8 position players that will play D-1.

By the way, they do play together all Summer and Fall, they are not just thrown together for one tourney.
For the record -- I (as a DBAT dad) have not ranked or rated the tournaments. Our team is not riding some sort of "high horse" here. Both are fine events. Both will provide good competition and I hope every team that enters will play hard, with emotion, in an attempt to win it all. Why go otherwise?

It's like picking between Katherine McPhee and Carrie Underwood --- can you go wrong in either case? Wink
The Wings Red, the Heat White and the Indiana Bulls Black were all in the same Pool. The Indiana Bullls were the #1 Seed coming out out of pool, and obviously, the Wings and the Heat played in the championship game. Pretty tough pool.

Heat were leading 11-7 going to bottom of 7. Wings get it to 11-9, runners at 2nd and 3rd. Rowe's bomb was a fastball middle half, and it was a rocket to LCF. As soon as it left the bat, half the stadium groaned and the other half screamed.

Great game and a great week of top-shelf baseball.

I can never see going into a tournament with less than a 20 man roster and at least 12 to 14 arms

We tell the kids going in what the story is and THE TEAM will function--this year we even have a young catcher who has asked to join us as out bullpen catcher--he is not looking for playing time--he just wants to learn more about the game so he can improve nimself

When people understand why and what you are doing and you have success with it there is no problem to get the kids AND THE PARENTS to buy into what you are doing

Lay the cards on the table--we have even been in events with 25 players and 14 were just pitchers and only pitchers--you have to go into the events looking to go the entire distance--we had a boy last year threw to one batter and struck him out whith 90 plus stuff--before he h gets back to us this year he is headed to the East Coast Pro Showcase with the Red Sox and then with TEAM CANADA in Cuba---he knew his role as a closer with us and look what he got in return

It is all about THE TEAM and working together
Slam Angels def. Lousiana Angels
Sliders Orange def. Houston Heat Red
Columbia Angels def. Arizona Clash
Columbia Angels def. Sliders Navy
Sliders no color def. Kyle Chapman

Great baseball. Those badmouthing the Premier assocation need to come to College Station. The single elimination bracket starts on Friday, and all the teams will have their best guns on the mound.
