Our JV team is really young, as some of you might know from my other posts. we really need a coach that knows his stuff. the coach we have is a good guy and all (i like him as a person), he knows a lot, almost too much about the game, and sometimes he goes off on tangents about situations that will never happen in a game. we are pinched for time, again, we need a lot of practice, and he goes in and takes cuts on the machine during pracitce, taking away from the swings that we could get. he lauches 300+ foot fly balls to our infielders and yells at them when they dont catch it (its very hard to catch, i dont know why, but the machine just makes it really hard). then when he goes out in a fit of rage to "show us how its done" he misses, not drops, misses 5 or 6 in a row.
and, worst of all, during a game, he has a tendancy to not pay attention. hes the third base coach, and one astute pitcher notices that our coach isnt there and throws a pick off to third, picking our guy off while our coach is talking to some parent over the fence.
i just dont know what to do. its really hard to beat the other team and your own COACH. there have been games where he has had more errors than our whole team. im not bad-mouthing him, i really like him and all, but hes just a terrible coach. no one can say anything to our varsity coach becuase they are good friends and we dont want him to think we are a bunch of winers. no one can play for this man anymore, its getting to the point of ridiculous.
does anyone have any suggestions? please
