That's awesome, Iowamom!!!!

Also, I hope you picked up on Fenway's insightful comment... your son may already be totally on top of this but for him to recognize and acknowledge his defense behind him any time this accomplishment is talked about would be a very good thing as well.

Amen & amen!

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who posted on this. I was a little worried about Fenway's comment--you like to think your son is that smart, but always worry--but last night one of his former coaches said he texted my boy the night of the no hitter and got the response he said he expected. "Thanks coach, but it was really my team. I did my best, but they just played awesome."

I've heard from others as well that he recognized how much he owed to the kids both who played in the game, and those who cheered everyone on from the bench.

Proud to know that while I have apparently raised an okay baseball player, he also is a good person. And that's truly satisfying.

Thanks again all.

Sophomore son pitching varsity tonight threw no hitter over seven innings.  Nothing else. Just needed to brag. (Yes, high school ball. Iowa plays summers). Thanks for listening. ☺️

That's awesome.  So they play spring and summer or just one season (over the summer)?  Very interesting

We just play one season — summer. Start at memorial day, state tournament in late July. Most kids play a spring league with their varsity team, then my son will play travel ball starting in August. It's different!
