Rangers signing SOSA

i think its a good move. it's not like the rangers have been winning.. so i guess they might as well try something. they signed gagne right? i heard that sosa will only be offered a minor league contract and an invitation to spring training, but i may have heard wrong.

I think it wasnt a very good move. The Rangers already have the power and the run support. We should have gotten a pitcher instead.

thats a good point raccoon. didnt they sign Carlos Lee? or some powerhitting outfielder.

No I think they let him go. I think he went to the Astros. But not including him from last year since he reallly didnt put up the numbers he was supposed to. We also have Mark Textiera, michael young, hank blaylock, and ian kinsler.

that would be funny. But on a positive note he might be able to put some more runs on the board. and more people will probably go to the games.

I don't know the terms of the signing-didn't know he had signed until I read this. All I've got to say, is as disgusting as it makes me feel, he fits (potentially) what they need. A right handed DH/outfielder (since he has no leverage, he will be mainly a DH) with power. Maybe the catch lightning in a bottle for one year, which is about all I think he can be good for. I don't like the move in general, but the GM is doing whatever he can to potentially turn this thing around. If he doesn't work out, who does it hurt? Hicks' pocket? Oh darn! Not making this move, for the cheap (once again I don't know details, just assuming) price that they are getting him... who cares? Why not? Not to mention, this may allow Washington to be more flexible late in games with people on the bench because of Sosa, or Sosa in general. Yes his talent has fallen off, but he's still hit a ton of HRs. I say, give it a shot.

think its sad, guy is coming back hoping to hit 14 homers, that is all. picked a good hitters park, layoff probably got the juice out. i'm a yankees fan, glad they didn't sing him, since they like the old guys chasing the records, or simply just the old guy...

How did the Rangers embarrass themselves with Palmiero? Palmiero was with the Orioles when his alleged (yes I think he used steriods) steriod use was discovered.

sorry people but i love this signing. just like the stock market low risk high reward. pay him a couple hundred thousand at most and maybe he'll end up hitting 20 homeruns. what is the big deal?

Having said that, reports say he's a lot smaller. Hmmm.

I think Rudy Jaramillo will do wonders for him. I like the signing. Not much of a risk in my opinion.

Just think what Rudy could have done with him. If they would have kept him, when he was a young buck.

Rangers had him when he was clean, didn't when he was dirty, now taking him back when he's done.

Based on the Rudy's comments yesterday on the radio he is very excited, Rudy said something to the effect he likes his big league bat speed.
