Well,  I have known these guys for awhile...... have sat with them before, talked with them in their office, they likely felt a little more comfortable than a parent yelling " that's my boy" that's my boy"

I could go on, it was hilarious..

Scout to all the pitchers,  " look we have to get off this field by 3:00 pm  so if any of you cannot hit 85 tell me now"

funny you say that , at  AC 2019's , the radars came out for every new pitcher and if you weren't throwing harder than mid 70s the radar were put down ,And no notes were taken , some kids shouldn't had been there, you can see most teams traveled together . and I felt bad for some of them . a lot of parents high hopes crashed .

Letting hopes crash for a 2019 is like those people that pull their money out of the stock when it goes down by 5%.

so you decided to post the negative, arrogant, private conversation they had around you on a baseball forum?

Yes he did because he thinks all of the new parents posting these days are clueless but realistically he was one himself at one time.

Okay TPM, please spell it out....I don't get why I as a new parent should take offense to this post.

I already answered you in one post. How about you wait until the re ruiting experience comes your way. Then you can give your recount of all those lyin recruiters he claims he had contact with.

Are you saying most coaches give you a clear stance on how much they want or don't want your kid? There are no games, no angling, no wishy washy statements?

If you are targeting the right level no. When my son was Targeting only D1 colleges there was a lot of that. Once D# colleges started contacting him and Targeting him much of that went away. There was a clear difference, He was clearly wanted or loved by many D3 colleges. But most of the D1's were luke warm on him at best.  There was no real D1 interest until very late in the process. Son figured by that time he was probably there 3rd or maybe even fourth option. He decided to go where he felt he was the first option.

^^^ You can tell when a college "loves" your son.   At the time, we felt one school was stringing son along, but looking back, it is just what they do.  They kept looking, and looking, at son, but no offer was made.

Most of the time when "a coach gives you a clear stance on how much they..... don't want your kid", it is in the form of no response.   When they want your kid, it is loud and clear.

I think the process is pretty straight forward. You will know when your are seriously wanted. Even bacdor admitted himself there is a huge difference.

As I have posted before there are 3 types of recruits. A,B,C.  A means they want you.. and they want you bad. They will go out of their way to try to tie you down. An invite to a camp does not mean you are an A recruit.  An A recruit gets asked to come for an unofficial very early in the game. They may even come to your home.

B means they like you, you definetly may have a legit shot if A says no. They will definetly court you, but it will not be as intense as being an A recruit.

C means that they will offer you if A or B decline.  You will be offered the minimum or asked to walk on. You will have to work your tail off to prove you can be a starter. You get camp invites with written notes.  Thats to keep you in the loop, but camp isnt the deciding factor.

IMO a B or C recruit at one school may be better off being an A at another program.  If that means D2 or Juco than thats probably where you should be. I have left D3 out because of the obvious, you must pass the GPA test first.

Its all in the perception. If you dont understand how it works, you will get mad and angry and call the coachs liars.

Liar !  some do lie, as in any business, avoid them at all cost and tell everyone you know to avoid them.  However 85% are honest and if you are honest and ask them they will usually tell you if you are an A , B or C...  But a B at SEC is an A at C-USA

Also, its as if they have to predict the future, hard to do and everyone is per-disposed to their own opinions.   coach A loves a certain type of player while coach b hates the same type......

Early in my process I was upset at RC's  ...but in hindsight the people I should have been upset with were his travel coaches that I leaned on for information.  The travel coaches were not helping him in the least , actually pitching players of investors in the business  but were selling that they were trying to help.

It all worked out well as son in question is playing D1 this fall ....
