Well my son just signed his NLOI and he's headed to a state D1 where his tuition is fully covered and books. They do get a stipend when travel is involved.

He will live off campus in the athletic village which will be 500/month. So not sure how much food will run us.

Also not sure about any academic money or fafsa as of yet.

We are pretty pleased with his offer.

From what all the MLB scouts and coaches we know have said "he'll never step foot on campus." So who knows about that as all of this is new to us. He is being recruited by the MLB so we are just enjoying the ride! Whatever happens happens!

My son has two close high school friends playing D1 athletics, and what they are being given is absolutely ridiculous. Clothing (more than they can possibly wear), shoes, personalized equipment, special tutors, extra food, tickets to all athletic events, strength and conditioning coaches, plus their stipend.  My son sometimes doesn't even make it to dinner because they are working out or at practice, so its more out of pocket from him or us to buy additional food.

Yup, that's what my son experienced at a private D1 school.
