Happen to be in town of a big time DI university on business and have some extra time. Is it worth for me, a dad of a 2013 player, to reach out to the recruiting coordinator and see if we can meet to learn more about the program? My son plays for a high profile team in a different state which should be recognized by the coach. Just wondering if I would be overstepping any boundaries if I e-mailed the coach to see if he could meet in the next day or 2.
Thanx in advance.

MIH_Baseball,

Welcome to HSBBWeb, and recruiting. CPLZ is spot on. I would not request a one on one meeting with the coach under any circumstances, unless of course you are donating millions. The coach might take that meeting.

If you are in town again, I would check out the facilities and possibly a game in the Spring if you are curious about the level of play and the school. I'm notorious for doing this, because I'm a baseball junky. Many of my customers are colleges and universities. So it was extremely convenient for me to go to a game or two with my customers. But I never approached a coach. I left that up to my son to handle in his own way.
