Assuming they’re two different coaches - how is recruiting for pitchers typically handled? Is most of the contact still through the RC or does the PC also play a big role? If talking to both, is there anything particular to keep in mind for each coach? Thanks.

It depends on the school. But if your kid is a pitcher regardless of who the RC is, if there is mutual interest your kid should be speaking with the PC. My 202's PC was also the RC so it was easy. For my 2022, the RC was the hitting coach. After an initial conversation my son mostly spoke with the PC. The RC did handle the things like pre-reads, visits, etc. But since he committed all communication has bee with the PC.
Every school is different. My son was recruited exclusively by the HC as a pitcher/hitter but primarily pitcher because he was the one who already had the relationship. Son rarely spoke to RC during the process. The PC came and watched son but very little contact. HC reached out weekly during the process and even after son committed. Ours was unusual because most of the contact was with the HC's rather than any assistants. I think it helped in many situations that he had an older brother who had been recruited by many P5 schools so the HC's knew the older brother and knew of youngest.
At a different school, the RC/Hitting coach was the main contact and son rarely spoke to PC. I don't know if son had very much contact with PC at any school that recruited him, but he was being recruited as a 2-way at almost every school, they said.
Usually contact is initially made with the RC and even weekly calls were with the RC, but my son was always introduced to the PC or asked to sit down with him at some point.
