Son is attending a top 10 California Junior College and has made it through all of the cuts (lots of kids that were trying out). In the latest player/coaches meeting the coaching staff expressed the possibility of Redshirting instead of being the primary backup as they can utilize other Utility players at the MIF spot if necessary.
Although he hit .400 through the Fall Season, the coaches are leaning towards an older more physical player as the starter. The kid just turned 18 (Fall birthday) and is 155 pounds (that’s after the 5+ pounds he’s added this Fall).
Academically he’ll be on track to transfer after his Sophomore year so we’re unsure how all that will play out. Baseball/physical developmental wise we can see it really will benefiting him, however want to make sure what if any potential negatives we are missing?
