Registration Fees

I think the player needs to send in the fee if he is actually interested in gaining admission to the college.

often when a player is recruited and commits, the coach/athletic department will instruct the player on their proceedure to get the application fee waived.
ex- forward to the coach, or use an app provided by the coach/athletic dept and identified as such

as far as getting fees waived just because you are interesed - I never heard of that

Unless the coach advises you to send him the application for admission so he can walk it thru or you get forms specially noted and are told by the coach to send them without the fee you had better send in the fee with the application or it will not be accpeted

My son hasn't signed with any college yet, but he has several juco colleges interested in him. They like for you to fill out and send in an application I guess so they will know that they have his info (and that he's eligible) if they decide to sign him. I just remember this being discussed last year on here.

My experience is that you pay the App fee as a player/prospective student...DI does not approve of waived fees to my knowledge. All students pay this fee and it would be a violation for a player to have it waived as he is a student first...be careful.

Simple rule---follow the direction of the coach

We noticed that some colleges waive the application fee if you apply online, and some others provide a certificate or letter to visiting prospective students that allows the fee to be waived if they apply by a certain date after the visit.
