Why is the Baum not more popular? Almost impossible to break. Easy to swing. Son loves it. Anyone can borrow it.

Price tag

I know your views on wood bats and price. You might actually come out ahead even if he broke 3 bats, so that works for you. However, I have seen many wood bats used by 17u and 16u players over the past few weeks. Many are $100+ bats. All it takes is one break and you are over the $200 I paid for the Baum. It simply doesn't break and it has a more balanced swing (so says the boy).

I can also put him in the cage with no worries of breakage.  I have seen three kids break their bats while practicing at dBat. Talked to another who had a $100 replacement Old Hickory. I'm happy to be done until he needs a larger size.

Mine loves his Baum and so do I. He thinks it has tons of pop which is 90% of the battle. Gonna use it this fall then upgrade to the 34".

Agreed. There is a heightened sense of pop. The "indestructible" aspect is empowering to him, I think. To me? Swing away. Let your whole team borrow it. Sure. Whatever.

The paint on his Baum has also worn off. Now he likes it even more. FYI, the new Baums will not do this, I am told.
