Adam Trice slugs 2 HR and drives in 4 to lead Lee-Davis over Freeman 4-1.
And that River-Dale game went to 8 innings. Great baseball to watch, with Dale tying in the top of the 7th.
Saw James River's WF Commit Roberts get the start and three relievers including Winder (VMI, right?) who looked pretty good. Dale's Nate Eaton (VMI) pitched a complete game and still looked fresh late into the game (I think he struck out the side in the 7th?). Good stuff.
btw, who was the big lefty who followed Roberts? Was that Austin Arnold?

Yes, Arnold has gotten tremendously bigger in the off season.
Also, how many pitches did Eaton throw in 8 innings in early March?
Cosby looked a little tight on both offense and defense. Zach Mort pitched 6 innings with 11 K’s (10 in the first 4), 3 hits & 0 runs. Offensively, Jake Huggins went 2-4 with a double and Zach Mort went 1-4 with a double and 2 RBI’s.
Looking forward to seeing the early season matchup of Cosby vs. James River on Thursday…

Report was that Eaton threw 122 pitches.
Criminal.

Agreed!
122? In March? Opening Day?
Its almost like there was zero mention in the last 12 months about over use.
Its almost like we don't hear news of somebody (ms, hs, college, mlb) needing Tommy John literally every day. Every. Day.

I've been thinking, with as little ability to get the guys on the field outdoors and do some live action, with many scrimmages never happening, the usual round of guys being pushed too far too early would be even more harmful this year.
Best of wishes to Eaton, I hope the effects of this start don't linger.
