Just thought I'd set up an area thread for general posting as the season has gotten into full swing.

First thought I've had recently was when the RTD poll came out the other day.  When was the last time you saw the top 10 without its having either of Cosby or James River listed?

Can't argue with Hanover as the top choice.  I probably would've gone with Benedictine # 2, Glen Allen 3, Lee-Davis 4 based on what I've seen thus far.

Also, I hope everyone got the memo that the UVA-VCU game at the Diamond got moved from last night to tonight (Wednesday) at 7:00.  Should be a great crowd but of course it won't sell out, so you don't have to plan ahead to show up.  Lots of area alumni on the rosters.  Personally hoping to see some Cardinals alums; Derek Casey is slated to start on the mound for UVA, and I'm hoping we'll see Ches Harrington and/or Noah Murdock as well.  UVA's Cayman Richardson and VCU's Stephen Carpenter are others I'll keep my fingers crossed for.

I saw some notice last week about upcoming spring break tourneys, but today's newspaper didn't include them in its posted schedule.

If you know the schedules of various events, please post here.  (Looking for games you can actually see in the RVA area, not for games RVA teams are involved in while traveling over break.)

James River's Jack Anderson threw a 6-inning no-hitter last Thursday against L.C. Bird.

A big James River rally in the 6th shortened the game by one inning.

I can't remember ever seeing a FRESHMAN throw a no-hitter of any length at the varsity level.  Can anyone else?  The only guy I can think of who might have would be Godwin's Tommy Edelblut many years ago.  I recall he had a tremendous freshman year, but can't say whether a no-no was involved.  (Edelblut is old enough to have kids of his own at this point!)

Need I mention that Jack Anderson is a Va. Cardinal?

Well he could have been a Richmond Brave, Stars Showcase, etc. etc. -- so yeah get that plug in there.
