is a 1000 sat really bad- can you get into college with that- or should it be taken again-1000 with no studying-3.75GPA

Well, if that's 1000 on the new, 2400 max SAT, yeah, that's bad. On the old 2-way test, max scor 1600, it's not so bad. But with a legit 3.75 you should be able to do better.
it was 1520 out of 2400, will have to take it again in september and study
retake it, you can do much better.
But the answer to your question is, it depends on which school you want to attend. They all have different criteria for admission and SAT is just one (important) aspect.
