I was curious if anyone could tell me what was the minimum (approx.) of SAT scores a Senior should be looking at to get into D1, D2, D3, NAIA, or JUCO programs. Being new to all this I will admit that at this point I am dumber than a bag full of hammers and just don't know. lol.

Are the scores different per school....coach.....etc?

After you get through laughing at such a stupid question, your answers/insights are greatly appreciated.

It's not a stupid question, but one that no one can accurately answer. The difference in the scores accepted by schools is as varied as the average GPA, the quality of the baseball program, the size of the school, the financial assistance offered, etc. within each division. Division doesn't tell you alot about any of those things as they will be across the board within each division.

Here's a website where you can look at an individual school and see a profile of averages for that school. It also allows you to compare it against some other choices as well.

It is important to realize and always keep in mind that the SAT scores have two relationships: first and most importantly what you need to get in a certain college/university in terms of admission and second what you need to be eligible with the NCAA/Clearinghouse to be eligible to play baseball----being eligible to play does not guarantee that you will gain admission Due diligence is required here in researching the schools you have interest in

There are no dumb questions here and you may have to ask several times before you finally get it..we all have been there!! Just to expand on what's already been said..the other relationship the SAT/ACT scores will have is in conjunction with your son's GPA. This is his GPA in all his core subjects..There is a sliding scale that shows you what you need to get on your SAT or ACT if you have a certain GPA..and vice versa. You can download a whole booklet about it at www.ncaaclearinghouse.net.
Good luck
Look at Princeton review web site too.

At all levels, schools have a little leeway as to what an athlete needs to get in, though some deny that, but at some schools an athlete can score well below the norms, while at others, the leeway is very very little. For example, Notre Dame's football players had an average GPA approximately 100-150 points below other entering freshmen, but the average was still north of 1000 on verbal and math, not exactly dummies.
