Scoring ruling

I know I should know this, but I heard a comment on the Tiger game broadcast and it made me wonder.

Runner on first, ball hit to shortstop, he takes the ball and steps on second, and throws to first to complete the dp. Is the scoring 6-3, or 6-6-3. Technically he has gotten the putout, and made the assist by throwing to first.
