FSU pulls scholly?

"Some members of the Florida State coaching staff, including recruiting coordinator Mike Martin, Jr., who is the son of head coach Mike Martin, made the trip down to Key West this month to deliver Arencibia some unfortunate news. Because highly regarded FSU center fielder Tyler Holt surprisingly fell to the 10th round in this year's MLB Draft, he may decide to return to school rather than sign with the Cleveland Indians, who drafted him...Anticipating Holt's return, the FSU coaches asked Arencibia to attend Tallahassee Community College this upcoming school year and then join the Seminoles the following year as a sophomore."

Tyler Holt has now signed with Cleveland, 10th round, $500,000 bonus.

I guess this last minute diverting players to JUCO is pretty standard in the business of D1 ball.

Am I surprised, no, sounds typical for FSU and how they recruit and he is NOT the first player they have done that to. Should have made it their business to see he got drafted better and made it clear that if drafted he needed to sign because they already spent his money. Dog and pony show so that they don't get a bad reputation. JMO.

It is NOT a standard of business in the larger D1 programs to do what they do, that is why the NCAA put scholarship restrictions in place and roster limitations, for these type of situations.
