I would say that when All is proven, about all who used, leave the bunch of them out. Maybe we can induct them into the Olympic hall of fame with all the other roid heads.
When he tops Ruth and Aaron and leaves the game and waits his 5 years....OF COURSE!!!!!!!!!!!
You go, Barry!
You go, Barry!
Did you say inducted or indicted.
If he stays on that juice his head will be too big to fit through the doorway of the hall or on a plaque anyway.
Actually barry had HOF credentials before he decided to embarass himself and the game in recent years. Just have his plaque say through 1998.........

Exactly. He has maybe 50-100 'roid induced bombs. Its not a popularity contest. He has HOF numbers, without the cream or the clear.
Rose was great before he gambled. Should he be in? Not in my book.
Bonds was great before the 'roids. Should he be in?
Not in my book.
I also exclude Palmeiro and McGuire, and as much as I personally suspect Sosa, no evidence, and no wishy-washy testimony (a la McGuire)makes it tougher.
Maybe a special exhibit would be in order for all of these guys...next to the juice machines.
Very controversial topic here. JMHO.

Was a hof before alleged use, and if he doesn't go in I don't think any player from the late 80s to early 2000's can get in. He was the best player in the time.
in my opinion he was hof before the juice.he wasn't the only one to juice, but did he hurt the game?did pete rose hurt the game?shoeless joe?cheatins cheatin.ya can't have kate and edith too.just one mans opinion.
yeah he deserves to get it, I don't think that he is the monster that the media plays him out to be. Every time there is a story, the media just jumps on top of him because its news. He isn't a saint, but he isn't the devil either.
I'll be in Cooperstown for the induction of Bonds, McGwire and Sosa.
I say vote him in when he can fit into the tee shirts he wore in 1999.
Steroids were not against the rules when he broke the single season record home run record. As far as anyone knows everyone he played with and against was on steroids too. It's not fair to single out Bonds.
I thought steroids were against the rules when he broke the record, but they just couldn't test for them. I say he should be in because of his numbers before roids. There was no penalty to ban a player if he used steroids. It's not the same as Pete Rose, who broke a rule stating if done so you willbe removed from baseball. Steroid is a drug, as is cocaine and heroin, if he would have been addicted to cocaine and his career ended would we talk about this? Would he be excluded from the hall because he was addicted to cocaine even if he had the numbers? There were also pitchers who were juicing, meaning he may have been hitting bombs off cheaters like himself. I dont believe major league baseball has the authority to rid Bond's of what he deserves if the rule's didn't state they could do so. In my opinion and as much as I hate Bonds, he had the numbers before using 'roids, he deserves to get in.
Babe Ruth set all of his records during the Prohibition era and by all accounts he was probably an alcoholic. What is the difference?
I don't like Barry Bonds.
That being said, I think he is a lock for the HOF. Baseball did not have a policy (rule) against steroid use when he was likely doing it. He broke the law of the land (as many HOF inductees have). He didn't break a rule of the game.
The difference between the 'roid heads and Rose is that Rose broke a specific rule that baseball has had in place for years.
As much as I don't like it, I don't think you put an * beside his numbers either. You don't * a guy because he did something you didn't like, agree with, or thought hurt the game. You only * someone if they broke the rules at that time.

Guys, MLB has had a rule against steroids since 1991. In addition, it is against US laws to use them in the manner these athletes are accused of doing. If "it wasn't against the rules of baseball" is your only defense of Bonds...yeah, well, not left with much then.....
A Ban Ignored
A Ban Ignored
Pete Rose should be inducted into the hall of fame because he didn't do anything to enhance his career (phsyically). What you see now, the 700+ home runs isn't the real barry bonds, and the old time greats didn't use any roids, and to keep the game of baseball honorable, neither should he.
Before I vote I would like to see the outcome of the MLB investigation to be counducted by the ex-Senator, Disney Board member, and small %baseball owner who sees no conflict. Once that is over, all caught in the net using illegal durgs [either banned by law or banned by baseball] and/or refusing to cooperate in the investigation should not be allowed to be voted on [like Pete Rose]. Those not caught and cooperative, should be voted on and if the numbers are there, they should get in. We got to clean this up people.
