Here is the scoop:

Showcase League recently received an invite to participate in the WWBA Northeast Qualifier at Baseball Heaven in Long Island NY in September.

We will be putting together a team over the summer and fall, the tournament is the weekend Sept 10th. We will be building the roster primarily from players who are in the Showcase League. For more information on how to get involved in the program visit the all new http://www.showcaseleague.com

Our coaching staff will include:

Kike Calero, Coach Calero played baseball at Rend Lake college and was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers and played professionally in the Houston Astros organization. He is a very respected coach and instructor working with AAU, travel teams, and Showcase League. Additionally he works with teams and coordinates trips and tournaments in Puerto Rico.

Scot Hopps, Coach Hopps played D1 baseball at Harvard University where he was a stand out player and team captain. He coached high school baseball in Denver, Colorado before coming back to New England. He continues to coach and instruct locally including with us here at Showcase League.

This is great news! It is awesome to see the Showcase League grow and evolve enough to consider playing in this tournament. Just playing in the NE Qualifier will put the players in the Perfect Game PG Crosschecker database which is a big step to being recruited on a national level. The players would be able to write coaches across the country and be able to let them know they have a profile on Perfect Game for the coaches to look at. Almost every DI and DII coach has access to that database. Have a great showing there and who knows!!

This is an opportunity that just isn't readily available to most kids from NH. Having another team to tryout for and join is great for the NH, ME & VT kid who'd like the opportunity to play in a tournament like the NE Qualifier without having to join a full year travel team. There are not many CDP's in our area to choose from.

Congrats to the Showcase League for taking that step and who knows win that sucker and those players will get to experience a tournament that is supposedly like no other! Keep up the great job in providing opportunities for so many different players!!

PS:
(If you are a pitcher and you consistently throw upper 80's or more you should seriously consider this! (just my opinion...))
