You didn't mention his age/grad year but I highly recommend you do your due diligence, especially when it comes to the larger organizations. Some have great reputations others appear to be nothing more than money grabs that will take anyone willing to pay the $$$$. That said, locally you have the Tidewater Orioles, Chesapeake, Rays, ODH, Mid-Atlantic Pirates, Black Sox and some others. If you broaden your reach you also have the Hampton Roads Hurricanes, Virginia Venom and some others up on the Peninsula. The Richmond Braves and Evoshield Canes also take players from the area but I believe both organizations have already filled their Fall rosters since it's right around the corner.

Being late to the party for Fall when many teams have already had tryouts your options might be limited. I do believe the Mid-Atlantic Pirates might still be looking - http://midatlanticpirates.com.

Most of the current Chesapeake coaches have roots in the Great Bridge program.  That includes the current WB/GB/Hickory/OS/ coaches and the GF coach in question above.  The current GF coach is an exception.

Anyone familiar with the GB program would tell you that it can be extremely intense and was so for as long as anyone can remember.  The coaches all have varying styles ranging from teachers to screamers.

There are plenty of stories good and bad, some real and some blown up.  These guys all know baseball and you have to decide for yourself if they work for you on something like a showcase.  You don't have much choice on the HS team unless you are willing to move.
