I hear that both Cole Green(Coppell), Tant Shepherd(Flowermound), and Jonathan Kaskow were all offered by the University of Texas this week. Heard that Cole was offered a full ride clapping, Tant was offered 85%, and Kaskow 90%, but only Shepherd and Green committed. Anyone know anything about this, if its true these guys deserve a huge congradulations!

According to Inside Prep BaseballTant and Cole verbally committed to Texas this past weekend. Also, TCU received their first 07 commitment from Corsicana righthander and 'DBatter' Stayton Thomas.

PD is right in that these players cannot sign a Letter of Intent (LOI) until the early signing period in November.

Congrats to these three outstanding players!!!

This is an exciting time for all the 07's with fielding phone calls and talking to prospective college coaches. Good luck and enjoy the ride.

I know the recruiting process pretty well. IMO, there is no way Texas committed over 25% of their entire alottment of scholarships to just 3 players. No one gets a full ride anywhere, much less Texas.

Plus, Texas is getting or has received a reduction in scholarships due to low graduation numbers(lots of factors contribute to this and it is very misleading).

Not doubt that they were offered and committed, but I'd be shocked if they received 1 full scholarship total between the 3 of them.

I don't say any of this to disparage these three young men. I have seen all three play in the past and have seen Tant since he was about 9-10 years old. However, I have had 2 players play at Texas (and win a national championship) so I am familiar with their program and how they do things. Especially with Green being a fairly high projected draft pick who most likely will never see the 40 acres, they just would not commit those type of resources to him and have very little for anyone else.

I wish all three the best of luck. Texas is a great place to play your college baseball.
