Non-baseball, but Levonte Barber has signed a football scholarship with UTC per tbca.org . Levonte played summer ball with the Knoxville Yard.

I have that on the 2004 list, but I didn't include it here. I always liked Lavonte as a baseball player and had always hope he would play past high school.

Levonte didn't play summer baseball last summer did he?

He played a few games. I heard he was only going to play briefly last summer and devote the rest of the summer to football conditioning. His baseball stint was cut short with a muscle pull during the River City Classic last summer.

Trevecca Baseball Coach Jeff Forehand signed two Greenbrier High School players for the 2005 baseball season. Hunter Norton and Barrett Brown inked on Thursday, January 15, 2004.

Lavonte played for Team Tennessee in the Sun Belt Classic in Oklahoma. One person who might remember this, or maybe not, was the catcher from Team Mississippi who helped Lavante renact to Hershel Walker/Bill Bates goal line play of the early 80's......Lavonte played the part of Hershel.
