Talent matters. Just for example I have 2 2011's that have already verballed. One to an ACC power the other to an SEC power. One is a mif who is 5-9 145lbs. He can run , he can hit and he can defend. The other is 5-10 164 a rhp. He can throw ched , he can throw strikes and he can command a great breaking pitch.
Their size NEVER entered into the equation. Never not one time during the discussions with the coaches. Talent , make up , grades. That was it.
This thread is silly.
Coach, here's one you will become familar with. He has a brother coming (verballed) the following year.
Tommy Coyle is a 2009 MIF with a 5'9'', 170 lb. frame from Chalfont, PA who attends Germantown Academy. Tommy has a lean athletic build and can run with outstanding first step quickness. He gets down the line very well and ran 6.69 in the sixty. His hands work well in the infield with soft hands and a smooth quick release with arm strength. He has a very good approach at the plate and hits line drives to all fields. He hits the ball where its pitched and is a good advanced hitter. He is also smart and aggressive on the bases. He verbally committed to North Carolina and is a good student.

Yes I spoke to the recruiting co of a program here in NC that was recruiting him before he verballed to UNC. He really liked him and wanted him badly. I am looking forward to getting the chance to see him play in college.

This is one of those reoccurring threads that will keep getting brought up as long as the hsbbweb is in existence.
Size does matter imho. A player needs to have a really BIG heart. Without that, they simply cannot succeed imho.
So true CD.
A lot of people think the younger brother is the better of the two.quote:Originally posted by Coach May:
