It will be next year. Coaches can't call prospects until June 15th going into their senior seasons. He can start to receive emails related to athletics on Sept. 1 of his junior season however. Just no phone calls from coaches until next summer.

Coaches can't make phone contact until June 15th prior to the start of the players senior season. He can send out emails as of Sept. 1 of the players junior year. So yes a coach can't call this player in question until June 15th, 2011 since he will graduate in 2012.

Players must be "rising seniors", meaning they have just finished jr year and will be a senior in the fall.

The summer after your jr year , before your sr year. So July 1 - the summer after your jr year has just ended.

However, you can call any coach you want to at any time. If you get them live, you can talk otherwise they can't call you back as described in this thread.

For NCAA the rules depend on the division:

D3 copaches may call a prospective player anytime.
D2 coaches may call on or after June 15.
D1 coaches can call on or after July 1.

It appears that there are no recruiting restrictions in NAIA.

How common does a College Coach visit a player during the recruiting process? A player visited by a coach is probably in the TOP 5 of their wish list I would think.

What do you mean by visit? To your home? If a coach is really, REALLY interested he will ask the player to come on an unoffical visit to get to know each other better. Or did you mean watch a game?

NCAA rules prohibit face to face contact outside of their campus until player is a senior, then those times are also limited, again, unless you go to their campus.

RR23Jr's Senior teammate stated he will be visited at home by a coach from a Division I school.

To summarize, D1 coaches may visit a players home (or meet with him at other off-campus locations) on or after July 1st following the player's junior year in the following time periods:

March 1 through August 31 except for Monday through Thursday of the week that includes the initial date for the spring signing of the National Letter of Intent (April 11-14, 2011 not allowed), and

The Friday following the second Thursday of September through the Sunday prior to the initial date for the fall signing of the National Letter of Intent. (Sept 9, 2010 through Nov 7, 2010)

D2 only restricts baseball contacts to the 2 day period before the NLI date.

D3 has no restriction.
