Until then here come the bowl games.

Good luck to the young man. That is basically what it takes to get on the field as an underclassmen - figure out a way to beat the upperclassmen out.

Looks like we are all counting the days til the 1st game; Feb 25th for us! Earning playing time, against a Senior catcher, is a tall order! Defense and throwing are important back there ............ but if Jr. is a better hitter and he's near in other skills, he'll get some innings!!
Our freshman (Jerseyson II) just started "voluntary" winter workouts. It's cold out there so thankfully we have a great indoor facility available. Kinda cool that Jerseyson I is helping out as one of the instructors during his off season.

This will be our second time going through HS baseball and I think I'm just as excited about it this time around as I was the first.
With the change of the contact rules in the CIF southern section (SoCal) this year, my son is doing 2 hrs 4 days a week, mostly hitting, conditioning, and throwing. The problem they have is that s****r use the fields so they have to work around the s****r program....(JV sport impacting a Varsity sport....don't get me started)

The team has already started to play Winterball games (9 innings) on Saturdays and then we will do a tournament or two prior to the official season start of Feb 15th. It then goes to 6 days a week full bore. I laugh at the "20 official games" that the CIF assigns to programs. Double Headers are considered 1 game. A tournament is considered 1 game. So our official schedule ends up being around 30 games plus we get in another 15-20 prior to the season even starting.
