okay thought i’d share this as I think its both effective and entertaining.  My youngest son is slow.  But sometimes I’ve actually seen him move very fast and athletically, so I began to surmise that maybe he just didn’t instinctively know how to RUN fast.  Off season he ran cross-country which I always hated for baseball players because it trains you to move slow.  my belief but cant convince mom of that.   So I came up with a game,  I sent him into the fenced back yard with a backpack with 3 to 4 slices of bacon in it,  sent out the dog and said Get Him!   Honest to god , this is working.  I actually didn’t get the idea from the rocky chicken thing but actually from something I read in Ted Williams biography My Turn At Bat when i was a kid. where he told how he gained speed by having his coach chase him around the bases with a stick and would whack him if he caught him.  A little fear is a great motivator for spped, of course this is more fun than scary.  And Of course my son is also in the weight room now, but hey I’m taking credit as a genius 😏
