Has anyone ever heard what Steinbrenner thought of his character on Seinfeld? I'm sure the real Steinbrenner was excentric but probably not as quirky as the TV character. I thought he was very funny.

On a side note, last night was the episode where Kramer has a numb mouth and gets invited to sit with Mel Torme at a special needs banquet. The funniest Seinfeld ever.

Steinbrenner was asked to be on Seinfeld. He declined. He was amused by the characterization. My favorite episode is "You Gotta See the Baby" and they go to the Hamptons.

It had ...

- The ugly baby (breath taking)

- Everyone but George seeing his girlfriend topless

- George putting lobster in the Jewish girl's eggs for payback

and ...

- They shrink? Like a scared turtle!

Steinbrenner actually did appear in a couple scenes that were never aired. They decided not to use them because they figured they would never be able to use the character again. He was never really bitter about how he was portrayed, he just said it wasn't very accurate.

My favorite Steinbrenner quote: "you think that nerve disease Gehrig had was contagious? Big Stein can't be floppin' and twitchin'!"
