Thanks Steve...an explanation is can use

On this subject of shifting. As I practice this the following happens

When I try to coil and shift I fail for some reason.

When I coil and then get the sense of the rotating shoulder unit needing to be moved forward as it turns I seem to be able to get the shift with out thinking shift. The shift is occurring during or just prior to completion of the rotation. This shift breaks the bat inertia that can exert a backwards force

Peavy says when you walk you pull from the lead leg not push from the rear. The sense of getting into the proper lower body position to pull the knob past the lead pocket before release seems to make my lead leg more active and I seem to get into front side more or pull the hips from the front side. Peavy says 75 % of the swing is complete when the back side releases??

Any comments on what triggers the shift ( if you have one) that comes from an upper body objective

Any cues that help explain how and when the shift works?
