PIC,

I guess I am just amazed at he number of threads that grind to a halt, deteriorate to name-bashing or go totally off the good-natured intent that the thread was begun with. Seems like the same posters always manage to be involved.

ChicksDig the LongBall,

I guess you are still stuck in the "bandwagon/wagoneer" phase of your contributions. Since when has PIC been known as a ..."innocent poster", especially as this thread relates to him?

But, you are extreemly right in one thing you post...."It doesn't matter".(who my kid is) My repulsion with those who choose to drag this great hsbaseballweb site down is truely mine and not even related in any way to baseball.

OPP
To One players Pop and the Waggoneers,

I haven't been here in a while and today I decide to check the site out. What do I see, threads about why you all fight. More threads that are closed due to fighting....

The whole problem with this site is you and your haughty attitudes, "Our kids are college players or minor leaguers and we know everything and will guide you high schooler parents"!. I been here a long time and have seen many many many posters thwarted in their attempts to fit into the community. The waggoners just want have it. They control the interests of this site. Maybe there is an agenda or maybe it's just a natural evolution of this message board. It seems that when your kids do move past the high school level that you too would move on let the rest of us have our own experience. We will survive.

I believe a lot of you are reliving your childhood through your children and can't let go because you failed yourself and are making another attempt and by being the godsends here makes you feel superior.
I have a suggestion. You all may not agree but here it is.
Why not make this a pay to be a member site? I am a member of another sports forum that charges $10 a year to be a member. The site has an owner such as Bob and moderators. The site has strict rules to "live" by. No cussing what so ever, no personal attacks to other posters, and so on. They usually warn a poster if he/she is getting out of hand and if the same incident happens again they are suspended. Not forever, but for a length of time until they realize the site will not become what this one has. The money that is recieved goes back into the site for the charges and upkeep. The owner does not get paid. He pays the bills and pays for upgrades to the site which has gotten better looking and easier to navigate since the year that I have been a member.

When I first joined this forum about two years ago, I was here to learn about baseball and how to understand the college and pro process' and what I needed to know to help out my son. And this site has helped me. I never saw any cussing until recently and the fight has gotten worse in the past year. I am like other people here that have quit posting because of the fighting and bickering that goes on. And yes, I have myself lowered myself to give personal attacks against another because I was on the "bandwagon" with the more experienced posters on here. This site is THE best site for learning about baseball and would like for it to be back where it was. I printed out that poster and gave it to my son's HS coach so that other parents could come on here and learn as well. But know I wouldn't do that.

I trust quite a few people on here and some I don't. But before I would let this great site go to pot, I would make some drastic changes. And I would gladly pay $10 a year to discuss baseball instead of reading personal attacks anyday.
Hey everybody! Did I mention that my 9th grade son is playing in his first 30-inning game tomorrow? Temps should be in the low 60's...I can hardly wait! His first official game is about a week away (21st). Big Grin Anyone else feeling the itch?
greenjump

Helpful hint (he says as he "bites his tongue")... repeat these words...common ground, common ground, common ground... Roll Eyes

Ummmm...that's why the site was started in the first place. To help other get through the process of navigating college recruitment and pro ball. But, what do I know anyway?
HCD,
Well we've got the cages and pens tomorrow and the field on Tuesday so I'm not so happy that you've reminded me about what's going on outside.

The entrances to our fields probably won't be passable tomorrow and there's a chance of rain again on Tuesday. If only I hadn't switched with the guy who had it on Monday. noidea
