Love reading the posts here and I've really picked up alot of nice tips. Figured I'd join and contribute.

Here's a clip of my 10 year old son in our basement.

I've been trying to get him in a more athletic (wider) stance and to bend his knees more. We just went down last night to get ready for this spring...basketball has been killing us.

Any comments, tips, criticisms are appreciated.

For a 10 year old it looks great. 2 small suggestions I would make. On the first one, make sure his bat is not wrapping (head of the bat towards the pitcher) This will make getting the bat around quicker a problem as he gets older. The second, is try to make him keep his weight back a little more as he takes his stride. It seems that his weight is going forward early.

I know I'm nit picking... just trying to help.
Thanks for everyones input!

ClevelandDad...he loves it...well put it this way whatever season it is...baseball, football, basketball, thats what he's into. He plays them all with equal relish.

He just started playing when he was 7. The last 2 years he's made the local Cal Ripken Tournament teams and we've really had alot of fun. Last year as a 9 going to the Midatlantic Regionals.

Thank powertoallfields and Dulles Mustangs...we'll work on the head and staying back on the ball.
