T work a waste of time ???? .. I think not In college we did T work all the time ..T work is great. easy to do, and ask any pro ball player how much T work they do. 98 % will say its important. I do beleive its best for " contact " hitters, than " Bangers "

Soft toss is great also, but with T work you can work " and think " about your swing. Soft toss, your just hitting
TAR...I heard from Henry Aaron about tee work.

I'm with the bangers and not the singles hitters.

hit...Do you "think" about your swing when a slider is coming at you at 87mph? Do a "pendulum" drill (about 15-20 tosses without mis-hitting the ball) re soft toss and you'll be sweating and have muscle memory for 2 weeks!

Been good point, and no, we dont think of that slider, nor the curve, or any movement of a ball. And soft toss is great, I just dont think T work is a waste of time. Its all about focus, how you see the ball.

Some should use T work, some dont see it nessesary. Youve been around, youve been in the pro work out area, before a player is ready to hit, most are under the stadium hitting off the T, not taking soft toss.
Let's not and say we did.

I am not trying to "argue" a position with anyone.

I just don't like tee-work. I'm sure many pros like it. They would likely use soft toss to warm up but are unwilling to pay someone $50,000.00 out of their $15,000,000.00 per year to help them work on those types of skills.

Not sure what Coach Bradley would say...I haven't talked to him about t-work and practice.

He's a heck of a recruiter and is a great storyteller.

unless u can smash a line drive to the back of a cage 95/100 times you should do tee work, i believe. It allows you to work on the basic fundamentals of a pitch down the middle. If you cant hit a non-moving ball solid then use a T. Its like running before walking in a sense. Sure softtoss and BP are excellent too as they are more realistic, but being a excellent fundamental hitter starts at the T.
T work is great to work on swing mechanics. Same thing for a pitcher doing dry mechanics. You cannot always throw to someone, working on proper dry mechanics works toward building muscle memory. Hitting off a T, the right way, works on muscle memory and breaks down the swing. Of course, in a game, not every pitch comes right down the middle so it is very easy for someone to position the ball in different locations. Is someone was taking soft toss or seeing live BP, would the pitcher be able to throw 30 balls right on the inside corner every time? Probably not. With a T, the hitter now works on 30 inside pitches in a row. Basically, the T is very essential to a hitter's development.
Been...ok, I'll bite...so you are saying that for kids ages 8+, a T is not useful? Just want to clarify. I am not a hitting instructor, not sure if you are or not. I would like to hear from instructors from Strikes, WSA, etc on this topic. Those are the guys that would know better than you and I.

To any of the college guys on this board...do you guys use a T at all? How often?
