My son 14, had an interesting conversation with the scouts at a HS game on Monday. I should have warned him about not bothering guys trying to work and I should have realized something was up when he asked me how do you know the guy was a scout on the drive to the game. Oh well.

It turned out very good for my son. Unknown to me, he and his friend, went over to them about the 4th inning and tried to look at what they were doing. When the scouts caught them looking over their shoulders, they said ,"Hey what are trying to do, read my stuff?" My son, being honest as usual said yes he was. The scout took a quick look at him and said," I will let you look at my notes if you give me some of those Skittles." A trade was made.

He got to look at some of his notes and sit there and listen to the scouts talk about the players for 2 innings. They asked him about some of the kids grades. He only knew about one of them and when he said it was straight A's, the scouts laughed and said who was in the running for that kid and who got knocked out.

It was a learning experience for my son on how they work and what they look for and since I didn't know about it until the drive home, I would like to thank the scouts involved from ASU, OSU, and CAC for educating my son and for putting up with a curious 14 year old.
Hustle never has a bad day.
