Region 1 - Waco Midway -Pitching/Hitting

Region 2 - Wakeland - Experience/Pitching/Powerful line up.

I agree with you on Region 3 & 4. It seems Brenham and Calallen are there every year!

Region 1 - Denton-Ryan - Choplick/Knight are back
Region 2 - Highland Park - Tough region to call.
Region 3 - Brenham - Know the road well
Region 4 - CC - Calallen - Picked them last year.

At just over 12 months from Tommy John surgery, you have to give the kid a lot of credit to be where he is. Paper said he was pulled at 100 pitches, when he was on a strict 80 pitch count one week earlier? Sorry to see one of my picks go, but I do agree it will allow him to further strengthen his arm.

Pretty ballsy (can i say that here?) call in Region IV. Lake Travis is always a tough ball club, but they've struggled a bit this year. I think it's going to be tough for anyone going up against Calallen. I'm biased though.....sure hoping my Vista Ridge Rangers surprise everyone and pull it out.

Any way you slice it, it's baseball....anything can happen and it sure is a fun ride!

Well, Vista Ridge couldn't get any breaks against a tough Smithson Valley team. I think SV will give Calallen a run for their money since Calallen really hasn't run into anyone tough. SV is a great hitting ball club 1 - 9 and they've been battle tested.

Boerne tied up the series against Lake Travis...Game 3 to be decided today. Since they are in our district, I'll be rooting for them.

You just gotta love baseball!

Still alive in all regions and maybe all will be favorites going into next round? Of course that is the kiss of death!

Arlington Heights just beat the #2 team in 4A with better coaching. There is a reason they are in it every year.

The coach pitched his #4 and #3 pitchers (before that series) and beat the A & M kid and held the Midway bats to 1 run in 14 innings.

@ Longhorns- we'll do our best to help your prediction out! All we can control is region 3, but I think your other picks are pretty safe too. Hopefully after this weekend we will still be playing and defending the state title!

I saw Poteet play in the 1 gamer! lefty was very good! Give me Poteet in 3 for that region... Very impressive region 4 though. Whoever wins that region is the state champ IMO..

Your defending state champs will have something to say about that!

We took Calallen out last year, and were very capable of doing it again this year.

As for Moody, they didn't really enjoy their trip to Brenham this year. It ended in a 5 inning 14-4 beating to the Cubs.

I am curious if three returning teams to the 4A state tournament has been done many times?

It just seems tough to repeat and to have three coming back, (state championship game could repeat too) is pretty tough to do with five series wins required o advance?

Obviously they were better than most of the people on this board gave them credit for.

A lot of talk about them being fortunate last year. You don't beat Brenahm and Calallen back to back on the biggest stage and not earn it!!

What a senior class, three regional finals, two trips to state and one state championship!
