On behalf of the Royse City Baseball team, we would like to thank the Heath Hawks for raising $1,000 and presenting to Coach Wolfe on behalf of Jake Owens family before the start of our game last night. It shows that in the big scheme of things, it doesnt matter what school you play for or root for, baseball players are one big family.
For those that are unaware, Jake is a varsity player for RC that was injured in a game Tuesday and ruptured a spleen. When the Dr's did the bloodwork, they found that he has Leukemia. The spleen has been removed, and they will be treating the Leukemia. He is still in the hospital at this time. Jake just lost his father in February.
Heath has shown great compassion for a fellow baseball player and Royse City is sending a big THANK YOU.
